Interactive Media - Mapping The Web.

We did this exercise about analyzing the map of web, this was a very interesting exercise because it’s got a brain thinking of how does the web work, how is the web made of etc. We came out with a lot of ideas which i think was really good towards our own website.

Interactive Media – Three Design Evolutions.

The first website that am going to analyse is called “Milwaukee Police News” I found this website on The FWA website. This is the link of the website: http://www.milwaukeepolicenews.com/#menu=home-page This is a very interactive website; this website engages the viewer to navigate around the website whatever they like and whatever they want to do, this makes the website work because you can navigate around the website by yourself and it’s easy to move around the website. I think that the consumer will revisit this website again and again, because this website is about what is the police is doing and what they are up to, so basically this website is for the public interest, for example on the website you have one section which tells you about the most wanted so I really think that this section is very good because the public is aware of who is wanted and dangers to the public. I think that the unique selling point of this website is that it is very modern and an interactive website, it is very easy to understand the website, you will not get lost so this makes the website to look good and enjoyable to navigate around the website. This website is a one page scrolling up and down website which this makes the website really interesting. This website use HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript, HTML5 makes the user experience easier than other website, this also makes the website more better with been built with HTML5 because HTML 5 is a modern HTML language. I think HTML5 does produce different outcomes because I think having flash on a website, you would have flash installed for the objects and the elements work, also with HTML5 you can now just embed videos, music, objects, and elements but then you would need a modern browser, but I think that everyone does have a modern browser now days so this is not a big issue. I still think that flash is useful for tablets because tablets use a lot of flash elements, as Adobe Edge is coming out I think that we will soon get rid of flash. These are few screen shoots of the website.
My second website that am going to analyse is called “With Art Philadelphia”, I found this website on The FWA website. This is the link of the website: http://withart.visitphilly.com/ This website is very interactive, is very interesting, navigating around the website is very easy and nice to use, I found it enjoyable to navigate around the website, this website is about art that and you can select what Art you like to see and insert them into a slideshow. I think that this website is mainly aimed at people who are interested in art, so I think the people who will be revisiting this website will only be the people who are interested in art, so I think their won’t be a lot of people visiting this website. I think the only unique selling point of this website that is interactive also that it has a lot of Art, which this makes the only for to view art. Which I think there is not a lot of people who will be interested in this website. This website also has an interesting section which is an interactive map which is really nice to use, very interesting you can navigate around the map of the city and there is a lot of images and information about different place around the city. Which I think this is very enjoyable and interesting. This website uses HTML5 but I think it would not be any different if it did not use HTML5 because the HTML5 is not widely used in this website I think if they used it much more would have been better. I think that the HTML5 does not produce a different outcome than flash because in this website there is not such a big massive elements of HTML5, I think that the uses of HTML5 use in this website us not much is basic.
There is no need to use flash for this website because it does not use anything amazing that needs to be in flash. These are few screen shoots of the website. My third website that am going to analyse is called “Chrome Experiments”, I found this website on The FWA website. This is the link of the website: http://500.chromeexperiments.com/ The design that used in this website is really amazing and really nice, I think that this is a very interesting website, also it is very interactive, this makes the viewer to be controlling the website, I really like this website also this website links to 500 other website. I think that because this website is linked to 500 other website the consumer will need to revisit this website a lot because, this is linked to a lot of website so the consumer will need a lot of time to visit these other website. I think that the unique selling point of this website is that is the design, as you go to the home page there is a 500 moving objects/elements that are eye catchy, which this plays a big role in selling the website to the public, also there is a lot of inactivated going on in the website. I think the use of HTML5 use on this website is really amazing, this website looks really good and amazing; I think that the HTML5 is working really well with this website. I think in this website that the HTML5 does produce a different outcome than flash, because i think what has been created with HTML5 it would have been difficult to created with flash also you would have had flash installed so that the flash elements to be working. I think that if flash was used in this website would have been difficult, to produce an amazing outcome as this. These are few screen shoots of the website.
