Image Optimisation-DP2

Image Optimisation

This is a 300dpi image that I found on the internet, as you can see the quality of this image is amazing, you can clearly see every element that it is in the photo, the way that this photo is being taken looks great as well as you can see that right the back to right to the front.
I have saved this image at 150dpi with different file formats such as JPEG, JIF, PNG, BMP and TIFF, to found out what changes happens to the image.
The image that I have saved it as JPEG the size of it is 52.0KB, The JIF image size is 131KB, The PNG image size is 117KB, The BMP image size is 732KB and The TIFF image size is 760KB.
Comparing theses image sizes, i can see that there is a lot of different in size for example the TIFF image size 760KB is very big if you will be having fifty images on a website with TIFF format it will take up a lot of space and also may slow down your website so it can load up all this big file sizes.
I think using JPEG format for websites is very good as you can see that it is only 52.0KB and this a lot different to TIFF file format fro example if you would be using fifty of JPEG images it will make a massive change between the overall size between JPEG and TIFF.
This is how you save a image in Photoshop- click on-File-Save for web and Devises- then a new window comes up and you can chooses what file format you want save it as after chosen you file format you click on- Save.
